Politiek

Sinds 1990 is Namibië onafhankelijk en wordt het geregeerd door het socialistische SWAPO. Aan het hoofd van de democratische regering staat een president en er worden periodiek (om de 5 jaar) verkiezingen gehouden.

Het land is verdeeld in 13 politieke regio’s. Vrijheid van meningsuiting, persvrijheid en het tegengaan van corruptie zijn belangrijke peilers in de hedendaagse politiek. De algehele Namibische politieke situatie kan als stabiel beschreven worden.
