Possible extras

Explore Namibia is trying to offer a holiday package as complete as possible, without making any concessions to your privacy and preferences.

You can also contact us for the arrangement of:

• Car Rental only
•  Specific accommodations
• Separate excursions
• Adjusted routes and periods

However, there are a number of possible standard additions that many customers do like to add. Please find below these standard options listed:

1. Insurance:

If you like to rent the car with a lower than standard or even without any excess, then an additional fee will be calculated.

It is for example possible to reduce the standard excess with 50% for an extra daily fee of about Euro 12,50 (N$ 100-N$ 120). It is also possible to have no excess at all for an extra daily fee of about Euro 25,- (N$ 200-N$ 250).

The exact fees are depending on the vehicle of your choice and the number of passengers.

2. Extra driver:

In the standard agreement and for insurance purposes, only one driver in included (minimum of 25 years).

If you like to make use of more than 1 driver, this can be arranged for an addional fee of about Euro 2,50 (N$ 20) per person per day.

3. Satellite Phone:

Although your own GSM phone can be used in Namibia, you will only have signal in urban areas. A satellite phone can be used everywhere in Namibia, even in the most remote areas.

The rent of the satellite phone is about Euro 9,- per day (excluding phone charges).

4. GPS-navigation:

A GPS satellite navigation system, with the digital compass and traction system, assures you will never get lost in Namibia. This system is simple to use, has a battery and can therefore be carried during hiking as well.  

The rent of the GPS system is about Euro 5,- per day.

5. Possible excursions:

Explore Namibia is also offering specific excursions, which can be included in the package. Currently the following excursions are possible:

- Ballooning over the Sossus Vlei including gamedrive and champagne breakfast: from Euro 349,- per person

- Spectacular scenic flight (of one hour) to see the Skeleton Coast: from Euro 90,- per person (only possible from Swakopmund)

- Dolphin and seal cruise (4 hrs) at the coast: from Euro 40,- per person (from Walvisbay and Swakopmund)

- Horse riding and "endurance"-possibilities on request

- Ultra-light flights and sky-diving

- Sandboarding, quad biking and desert tours

6. Compressor: A compressor is used to control your tyre pressure during your trip. The compressor canbe connected to your battery and is easy to use. When you choose for a compressor you will not be depending on petrol stations for getting your tyres on pressure again. The rent of compressor is Euro 2,- per day.
7. Two-way radio: A GPS satellite navigation system, with the digital compass and traction system, assures you will never get lost in Namibia. This system is simple to use, has a battery and can therefore be carried during hiking as well.   The rent of the GPS system is about Euro 5,- per day.
