Helicopter Medical Evacuation Service
What happens when a medical emergency arises far from civilization? For instance: someone suffers a stroke, a heart attack, gets bitten by a snake, or gets injured in a road traffic accident.

To reach medical emergencies in the shortest possible time a helicopter medical evacuation service has been established in Namibia per July 2013.
The helicopter will be flown by very experienced pilots and maintained by well-trained and experienced medical personnel and operates from Windhoek, which is situated in the centre of the country.
Many tourists, if not all of them, have comprehensive medical cover as part of their Travel Insurance. However, it does not help to have that cover, as there is no agreement between the insurance companies and this helicopter medical evacuation service in Namibia.
The helicopter medical evacuation service will only be offered to those persons who have registered for this service in advance. For a very reasonable one-off fee of Euro 30,- per person, Euro 25,- for a spouse and Euro 20,- per child under 18 years old, you will be entitled to this service for a period of one year from the date of your arrival in Namibia.
